About River House PA

“Anytime you have the opportunity to accomplish something for someone else and you don’t do it, you are wasting your time on earth.”

Roberto Clemente

River House PA facilitates healing through nature, in the form of outdoor adventures, recreational opportunities  and workshops for veterans and their families  who have been affected by trauma.

River House PA is a non-profit organization which provides the skills necessary to enable participants to go into the natural world and feel comfortable, confident, and safe.

Besides scheduled activities, we are available on an on-going personal consulting basis to help discover which outdoor activity best speaks to your soul, be it hiking/ backpacking, camping, paddling, cycling  etc. We can provide the means and the opportunities to learn the sport and then go one to incorporate it into your daily life to continue the healing.

The desire of River House PA is that each individual receive the gifts gleaned from the natural world and utilize those gifts to heal and achieve well being.

  1. I’ve been a combat veteran most of my life. 10yrs in the Marine Corps. Several as an operator in Sniper(S.T.A. 2/4)and Recon(2nd) teams. I often find myself looking for seclusion, some memories just never go away. Pleasant surprise to find your organization !!! Wish you the very best in helping regress some memories which taunt us….

  2. I think this is a wonderful idea- I have been involved with horses for 40 yrs. and raising foxhounds for 20 yrs. I have been close to veterans, and concur that this is a very healing approach. I hope to make your event on July 21st.
